Although we associate loss with the death of a loved one, we can experience loss in many other ways. There is a feeling of loss in receiving a serious diagnosis, caring for a disabled loved one, a divorce, depression, an estranged relationship, a rebellious child, an incarcerated loved one, loss of a job, loss of a home, loss of peace, loss of self esteem or the residual effects of a dysfunctional childhood.
For those who have experienced a loss of any type, this book of meditations is meant to bring comfort and inspiration. It is not a grief counseling guide, or a bible study, it’s a 50 day journey of intimacy and renewed awareness of God’s amazing and relentless love for us.
A kiss is a wordless expression of love, but there is a kiss of a different kind, which transcends the five senses. God’s comfort to those who grieve or suffer loss is readily available, and I describe it as being kissed by the Spirit.
